Hydraulic oil pressure to the piston/pusher assembly feeds the bar stock into the lathe spindle

The patented valve in the piston allows a controlled volume of oil to create an evenly distributed oil film between the guide tube and bar stock. This allows the bar to run without vibration or noise.

Rotation of the bar creates the hydrodynamic effect whereby the bar is supported and cushioned by the oil film.
